THE PILLOW MAN

In this dark play, written by Martin McDonagh and directed by Þorhallur Sigurðsson, only one puppet was asked for to appear among the other five live actors. To this day, the young girl, who believes to be Little Jesus, turned out to be the most haunting puppet ever build by Bernd. Inspired by the productions set and costume designer Vytautas Narbutas, the puppet was manipulated by three actor/puppeteers in a bunraku style. Carved out of Linden wood the puppet stood an impressive one meter tall. With somber face and sad (movable) eyes, she endured torture and Cruz fixation, and was finally buried alive. Premiered at the National Theater of Iceland in april of 2005
